Commerce Street Studio, Tacoma | Fayfer by Dan Senn

September 1992 (hear)|

Constructed from PVC, suspended scrap resonator, wooden dowels,
steel rod, nylon line and threaded piezos. Performed
by bowing
stem and strings, pulling dowels through eyeloops
on pvc posts.
Bowing produces sounds according to resonance
of pewter cabbage
leaf. Pulling dowels produces whistling
(fayfer) sounds.
Rotating stem produces pitched plucked sounds
tuned by
moving thread piezo up and down nylon lines.
